Thoughts from Chief Fitzgerald...
We would like to thank our community for their continued support. Watching this department grow from a volunteer department to a paid department has been amazing. I believe this vote proves the confidence our community holds for our abilities and services, and we will continue to build upon that. Our commitment to improved response times and certification levels of our employees will show our dedication to the community. We also would like to thank The Citizens4OlatheFire, their efforts to get the information out to the public and to assist in this vote was instrumental. Again, thank you! for your continued support of your local Fire District and the people that protect you every day in your time of need. We do not take this lightly; we take it with grace and humility.

Open House at Olathe Fire Station #1 - August 28, 2022
We opened the doors, pulled out the apparatus, set up a grill and provided hamburgers and hot dogs to guests that came for a tour of the station, listen to music, meet our responders, and learn more about our district and its needs. It was a great day for all! The weather was perfect and the water fight was a great grand finale to the days events! Thank you Olathe! We are happy to be here for you!

PANCAKE BREAKFAST at the CAR SHOW AND SHINE - August 22, 2020
Our volunteers served up a fresh cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, egg and pancakes. Nice way to start the day!
We thank everyone for their support!

Olathe National Night Out
August 8, 2019
OFPD paired with the Town of Olathe to coordinate an Olathe National Night Out, a night for the community to meet and greet with responders for the community. The Olathe PD, Montrose County Sheriff and K-9 Unit and SWAT all participated in the event located at the town park. Horton Street was closed for the ½ block west of the station so everyone could roam freely between the event and the fire station for our Open House. We fed over 200 people a hamburger/hot dog BBQ style dinner and there were games in the park, a DJ for music, K9 unit demonstrations and a spectacular water fight! OPD and OFPD did a dance off – our own Lt. Hubert Kimberlin won! Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening for all!
